GEORGETOWN, DC — To find a quality beer garden, you don't need to buy an expensive plane ticket to Germany. In fact, some of the coolest communal drinking spots are right here in the D.C. metro area.

Eater published a list of "16 Beer Gardens With Terrific Brews Around D.C.," and the ones that made it will not disappoint. Each beer garden boasts a unique vibe, menu, and beer selection — which means there's a German-inspired pub grub spot for virtually every taste.

One beer garden that made the list: The Berliner in Georgetown.

The Berliner — a new beer hall with a modern twist — set up shop in D.C.'s historic neighborhood late last year. Located inside a converted warehouse at 3401 Water St. NW, The Berliner is the latest concept for The Popal Group — a family-run restaurant enterprise in D.C.

The 4,200-square-foot beer hall has stadium-style seating, communal tables, a family photo wall, and a ping pong table, according to the eatery.

Yes, The Berliner is technically indoors. But the warehouse does have a garage door that opens up, giving us the beer garden vibes we all crave.

Inspired by family and modern Berlin comfort food, the menu features authentic dishes, such as bratwurst, homemade pretzels with beer cheese, and schnitzel. The lineup also includes kofta kebabs and falafel.

As for drinks, the beers come from a handful of local brewers, including DC Brau and Solace. If you're looking to kick back a lager that was sourced elsewhere, there's a selection of internationally brewed drinks to choose from, like the Munchner Hell from Munich, Germany and the Brugse Zot from Bruges, Belgium.
