Georgetown Sunset Cinema Movie Series Kicks Off Next Week
The third annual Georgetown Sunset Cinema outdoor movie series is returning July 11, with movie showings, food vendors and more.
GEORGETOWN, DC — The third annual Georgetown Sunset Cinema outdoor movie series, hosted by the Georgetown Business Improvement District, is returning July 11.
Every Tuesday evening from July 11 through August 8, residents can head to Georgetown Waterfront Park with a blanket and a picnic to enjoy an evening on Georgetown's waterfront.
"We're so excited to bring Sunset Cinema back to the beautiful Georgetown waterfront this year, as we highlight the diverse women in film whose groundbreaking characters and stories have inspired us all in different ways," Nancy Miyahira, Vice President and Director of Marketing for the Georgetown Business Improvement District, said in a statement.

The five-week series will honor Women in Film by featuring iconic movies with strong female leads and story lines, according to a press release. The featured sunset offerings are:
- July 11 - A League of Their Own (PG)
- July 18 - Hidden Figures (PG)
- July 25 - Brooklyn (PG-13)
- August 1 - Erin Brockovich (R)
- August 8 - The Devil Wears Prada (PG-13)
Various food vendors will also be in attendance, including: Ben & Jerry's, Dog Tag Bakery, Maracas Ice Pops, Muncheez Food Truck, Old Glory BBQ, Pinstripes, Naked Juice, Olivia Macaron and more.

Films start around 8:30/8:45 p.m. at the Georgetown Waterfront Park, located at the intersection of K/Water Street NW and Cecil Place NW.
