Local Architects Build Shelters for Homeless D.C. Cats

The creative outdoor shelters will be displayed at a Washington Humane Society event Jan. 14.

The arctic low temperatures call for concern of D.C.’s furry friends.

The Washington Humane Society is hosting “Giving Shelter”, a one-night event that will help the organization and homeless cats throughout the District at The American Institute of Architects, 1735 New York Avenue NW.

Creative outdoor shelters designed and built by local architects will be on display 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 14. After the event the shelters will be transported to different areas in D.C. to be used by homeless cats.
