Major Disruptions, Changes On 4 Lines: Metro Weekend Schedule
Here's what to expect if you're taking the Metro this weekend.

WASHINGTON, DC — There are plenty of things to do and see in the D.C. area this weekend. Some attractions you'll find include: Galentine's Soiree, DC Chocolate, Wine & Whiskey Festival, Maple Syrup Boil-Down, and Cupid's Bar Crawl.
If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, Feb. 8 through Sunday, Feb. 9, you should plan accordingly.
Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend:

Red Line trains will run every 18 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont, and single-track between Medical Center and Grosvenor. Additional trains will operate every 9 minutes between Friendship Heights and Glenmont from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Orange Line trains will run every 16 minutes between West Falls Church-VT/UVA and New Carrollton. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, additional trains will travel between Ballston-MU and New Carrollton.

In preparation for WMATA's Summer Platform Improvement Project, free shuttle buses will replace trains at Vienna/Fairfax-GMU, Dunn Loring-Merrifield, and East Falls Church. Shuttle buses will operate on three routes:
- Between East Falls Church and Ballston-MU
- Riders traveling to East Falls Church must exit at Ballston-MU
- Between Vienna/Fairfax-GMU, Dunn Loring-Merrifield, and West Falls Church-VT/UVA
- Express between Vienna/Fairfax-GMU and West Falls Church-VT/UVA.
Vienna/Fairfax-GMU, Dunn Loring-Merrifield, and East Falls Church stations will be closed. Riders on Ballston-bound Orange Line trains traveling to West Falls Church-VT/UVA should exit at Virginia Square for the same platform transfer. The West Falls Church-VT/UVA station will remain open.
Silver Line trains will run every 16 minutes. Free shuttle buses will replace trains at East Falls Church, as trains will not stop at that station.
Blue Line trains will operate every 16 minutes. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, trains will run every 8 minutes.
Yellow and Green Line trains will run every 12 to 15 minutes.
