Man Dies After Robbery, Beating Near Eastern Market Metro

Days after being robbed and beaten near the Eastern Market metro station, a 60-year-old man died Friday.

The man was identified by The Washington Post as Carlton Coltrane, 60, of Southeast Washington.

Police said he was robbed and beaten Tuesday both inside and outside a 7-Eleven store in the 400 block of 8th Street SE.

Police have offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 202-727-9099 or text the department’s tip line at 50411.
