New Chef Takes The Helm At Lutèce In Georgetown
Matt Conroy, who has Michelin star credentials, offers a spin on favorite dishes along with new creations for patrons.
GEORGETOWN, D.C. — After 16 years, co-owner Omar Popal remodeled and refined the classic Georgetown French bistro Café Bonaparte into Lutèce. He also brought on board new chef Matt Conroy, who worked as chef de cuisine at the Michelin-starred Mexican restaurant Oxomoco in Brooklyn.
With Conroy in the kitchen, patrons will find such offerings as salads brimming with heirloom tomatoes and melons, along with grass-fed flat iron steak marinated in koji. As a tip of the hat to his years spent preparing Mexican dishes, Conroy slips poblano peppers, sungold tomatoes and corn into the Parisian gnocchi recipe.
Conroy's creations can be enjoyed at the 24-seat outdoor dining space on Wisconsin Avenue. A takeout program will be launched soon.
