NHL Winter Classic 2015 in D.C.: Tickets, Parking, Food & Drink, What Not to Bring
Going to the game or trying to avoid traffic? Here's everything you need to know about the event Jan. 1.

Hockey fans from all around will make their way to Washington, D.C. as the NHL Winter Classic is hosted there for the first time.
The event will feature the Chicago Blackhawks vs. Washington Capitals at Nationals Park, 1500 South Capitol Street Southeast, at 1 p.m. Jan. 1.
The game will be broadcasted live on NBC.

- Tickets to the NHL Winter Classic are sold out, but there are some for sale on StubHub.
Parking:
- There are several parking options through the NHL by clicking here.
Metro System:
- Take the Green Line to the Navy Yard station and the stadium is a half block away
- Take the Orange, Blue, or Silver Line to Capitol South station and the stadium is a 15 minute walk away
Road Closures:
- *Van Street SE will be a one way southbound during the game
- N Street SE: From 1st Street SE to Van Street
- Half Street SE: From M Street to N Street
- Van Street SE: From M Street to N Street (accessible by taxis and stadium traffic)
- 1st Street SE: From M Street South to Potomac Avenue (accessible to stadium traffic only)
- Potomac Avenue SE: From South Capitol to 1st Street (accessible to stadium traffic only)
The following items will not be allowed inside of the stadium:
- Metal, plastic, or glass containers
- Animals (except service animals)
- Hard coolers or ice chests
- Bags and backpacks larger than 16”x16”x8”
- Umbrellas
- Skateboards
- Strollers
- Brooms, poles, and staffs of any kind
- Weapons, fireworks, and other illegal substances
- Camera lenses larger than eight inches, tripods, and monopods
- Beach balls and other inflatable items
- Laser pens and pointers
- Noisemakers (unless provided by NHL)
- Other items deemed dangerous, inappropriate, or violate the Guest Conduct Policy
The following guidelines for food and drink will be enforced:
- Alcohol must be purchased at Nationals Park, not brought from outside
- Food items must be contained in single serving bags within a soft-sided container or cooler that are not larger than 16”x16”x8”
- Only juice boxes, insulin containers, baby food, and clear, factory-sealed plastic water bottles that do not exceed one liter will be allowed (one bottle of water per guest)
