Patch's 'Hometown Heroes' series celebrates soldiers from Washington, DC. Nominate a service member or fallen soldier to be featured.
WASHINGTON, DC — Do you have a special service person or fallen soldier from D.C. you'd like to honor for Veterans Day? Now's your chance!
Service members put their lives on the line to protect us. That's why Patch is launching "Hometown Heroes," a series that celebrates soldiers from the nation's capital.
Send us your submissions to Alessia.Grunberger@patch.com for a chance to be featured in the series.

You'll need to provide:
- A photo of the service member
- By submitting a photo, you're giving Patch permission to publish it
- A blurb that explains why you're nominating this hometown hero
- War(s) the solider is fighting/fought in
- Any other fun facts (this is optional)
We'll be featuring nominated hometown heroes on Patch until Veterans Day. The deadline to nominate someone is Sunday, Nov. 10 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
