Weekend Metro Work To Impact Travel For These 2 Lines

WASHINGTON, DC — There are plenty of things to do and see in the D.C. area this weekend. Some attractions you'll find include: the Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend, Zoo Lights, Bob Dylan & His Band, and LA Clippers at Washington Wizards.

If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, Dec. 7 through Sunday, Dec. 8, you should plan accordingly.

Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend:

Red Line trains will operate every 16 minutes, with additional trains operating every 8 minutes between Van Ness-UDC and Glenmont. Trains will single-track between Friendship Heights and Medical Center.

Silver Line trains will operate every 12 to 15 minutes between Spring Hill and Largo Town Center. Free shuttle buses will replace trains between Spring Hill and Wiehle-Reston East. Wiehle-Reston East will be closed. According to WMATA, this work is ongoing and will continue most weekends through February 2020.

Orange, Yellow, Green, and Blue Line trains will run every 12 to 15 minutes.
