Weekend Metro Work To Impact Travel For 2 Lines
Metro riders taking these two lines may have a harder time getting around the D.C. metro area this weekend.

WASHINGTON, DC — There are plenty of things to do and see in the D.C. area this weekend. Some attractions you'll find include: DC Beerathon, Winter Market Craft Show, Fall Foodie Fest, and Ice Skating at Washington Harbour.
If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, Nov. 16 through Sunday, Nov. 17, you should plan accordingly.
Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend:

Red Line trains will operate every 6 to 8 minutes between Shady Grove and Van Ness-UDC, and between Farragut North and Glenmont. Due to construction, free shuttle buses will replace trains between Van Ness-UDC and Farragut North.
Cleveland Park, Woodley Park, and Dupont Circle stations will be closed. To accommodate shuttle bus connections, the last train will leave Shady Grove and subsequent stations 30 minutes earlier on Saturday and 35 minutes earlier on Sunday.

The Orange Line will undergo platform survey work — which means trains will operate in two segments:
- Between West Falls Church-VT/UVA and New Carrollton every 12 to 15 minutes
- Between Vienna/Fairfax-GMU and West Falls Church-VT/UVA every 24 minutes on Saturday and every 30 minutes on Sunday
- Riders traveling to and from Vienna/Fairfax-GMU and Dunn Loring-Merrifield have to change trains at West Falls Church-VT/UVA
Silver, Blue, Yellow, and Green Line trains will run every 12 to 15 minutes.
