Weekend, New Years Metro Schedule 2019
Taking the Metro this weekend or on New Years? Here's everything you need to know.

WASHINGTON, DC — There are plenty of things to do and see in the D.C. area in the coming days. Some attractions you'll find include: Gimme Gimme Disco, Holiday Light Spectacular, Ice and Lights, International Spy Gala, and 2020 NYE Soiree.
If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, Dec. 28 through Sunday, Dec. 29, or on New Years, you should plan accordingly.
Here's everything you need to know before heading out:

DEC. 28-29
Red Line trains will run every 6 to 8 minutes this weekend.
Orange Line trains will run ever 12 to 15 minutes, except on Saturday night. From 10 p.m. to closing, trains will operate every 30 minutes.

Yellow, Green, Blue, and Silver Line trains will run every 12 to 15 minutes.
DEC. 31 (NEW YEAR'S EVE)
Metro will open at 5 a.m. with special late night service until 2 a.m. Metrobus will operate on a reguar weekday schedule. Regular fares and parking fees will be in effect.
- Metrorail system will open at 5 a.m. with special late night service until 2 a.m. (early New Year's Day) on a regular weekday schedule
- Metrobus will operate on a regular schedule
- MetroAccess subscription trips have been cancelled
- Regular fares and parking fees will be in effect
- No scheduled track work
JAN. 1 (NEW YEAR'S DAY)
Metro will operate on a Sunday schedule from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Metrobus will also run on a Sunday schedule. Off-peak fares will be in effect and parking will be free at all Metro-operated facilities.
