WASHINGTON, DC -- If you've always wanted a chihuahua, now's your chance. Five dozen of the little pups are headed for the D.C. area and ready for adoption, according to a report.

DCist reports that 60 chihuahuas are on their way to Loudoun County, and the D.C. Humane Rescue Alliance will take 35 of them.

They come from a Mississippi breeder dealing with overcrowding who sent them to a nearby no-kill shelter, which in turn decided to send some of them our way.

The dogs aren't available yet -- they'll have to get a medical work-up and then get spayed or neutered, but that should happen within about a week's time, according to the report.
