The Chainsmokers Coming To DC On 'World War Joy' Tour

WASHINGTON, DC — The Chainsmokers “World War Joy” tour kicked off in September in Cincinnati and will wrap up its North American run on Dec. 6 in Vancouver, Canada. Tickets are on sale now to see this electronic-pop duo play on Oct. 15 at the Capital One Arena, with special guests 5 Seconds of Summer and Lennon Stella.

In 2014, DJ duo Alex Pall and Drew Taggart released their 2014 single "#Selfie," becoming an international buzz in the world of EDM, or electronic dance music. They continued to produce singles, gaining even more attention with their hit "Roses," which quickly went multi-platinum in countries around the world and climbed into the top 10 on the U.S. Billboard list.

Their collaboration with other artists resulted in big hits, such as "Don’t Let Me Down" in 2016 with Daya, an American teen pop singer. The song went on to win the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. In 2017 their single "Paris," with Emily Warren, climbed to the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Joining The Chainsmokers on their tour are 5 Seconds of Summer, also known as 5SOS, and Lennon Stella. 5SOS is an Australian pop rock group that started performing cover songs on YouTube. In 2014 they debuted their first single, "She Looks So Perfect," which rocketed to the top of the Australian, New Zealand and U.K. charts. Since then the group won 50 awards, including the 2019 Teen Choice Award in 2016 for Choice Music: Rock Song for their single "Jet Black Heart."

Lennon Stella, a native of Ontario, Canada will bring her own style as opening act to The Chainsmokers with a unique country-pop sound.

The "World War Joy" tour promises to be filled with high energy and dance tunes as The Chainsmokers perform new tracks as well as many of their well-known songs such “Until You Were Gone,” featuring Emily Warren, and “All We Know.”
