WASHINGTON, DC — A disturbing video has emerged showing American University police officers dragging a student out of her apartment, according to a report.

Fox 5's Evan Lambert tweeted the video, adding that there were protests on campus on Monday coinciding with a discipline hearing.

The incident happened back on Sept. 26 when campus police and D.C. fire officials responded to an "emergency situation" at the Frequency Apartments, according to a WPGC report.

American University tweeted a vague statement a couple days later, noting that there were "questions and concerns" and that the student is "safe," but offering no other information.

A Twitter user named Aminta posted a day after the incident that university police would not tell her if her friend was in custody or not. She followed up shortly after by posting the video.
