D.C. Chamber’s Choice Awards Gala Honors Individuals

The DC Chamber of Commerce created new awards in light of the pandemic, civic unrest, food insecurity, workforce and economic challenges.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The DC Chamber of Commerce recently held its Chamber’s Choice Awards Gala honoring organizations and individuals whose contributions are making Washington, D.C., a great place to do business. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual gala was a hybrid event with a limited number of attendees in person at the Mayflower Hotel, as well as livestreamed.

Award recipients include:

  • 2020 Champion of Change Award: The Honorable Mayor Muriel Bowser
  • Humanitarian Business Award: Dr. Anthony Fauci
  • Business of the Year: Thomas Penny, Donohoe Hospitality Services
  • Community Impact Award: Kim Ford, Martha’s Table
  • Lifetime Legacy: William Alsup of Hines Washington D.C.
  • Chairman’s Choice Award: Troy LeMaile-Stovall, TEDCO
  • Chamber’s Choice Award: Natalie Harris, DC Chamber of Commerce

“Aware of the challenges our leaders have taken to ensure that our business community succeeds during this unprecedented time, we created new awards and took a deeper look at the awardees and the ingenious strategies they’ve implemented to address civic unrest, food insecurity, workforce and economic challenges, and of course the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Angela Franco, interim president and CEO of the DC Chamber of Commerce. “The DC Chamber and its members are fortunate to have such bold leaders creating innovative solutions to care for each business, entrepreneur and community member’s best interest. Congratulations to our 2020 award winners. We are grateful and honored to recognize all of their achievements in change, reinvention and resiliency during this pivotal time in our region and nation’s history.”
