A teenage girl is recovering from gunshot wounds after being struck Sunday. She was by the Giant grocery on the 700 block of P Street NW.
WASHINGTON, DC — A teen girl is recovering from gunshot wounds after she was shot early Sunday afternoon. Washington DC police say it happened on the 700 block of P Street NW.
Police say the teen was by the Giant Grocery when shots were fired.
They believe that a "juvenile" male was firing a gun when the teen was struck. She was rushed to the hospital with at least one gunshot wound. She was awake.

The shooter fled southbound on 8th Street toward O Street Northwest.
Police say that he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with black pants.
