DC Restaurant Association Names 2020 RAMMYS Nominees

WASHINGTON, DC — For the first time ever, the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) issued a virtual RAMMYS nomination announcement Tuesday, recognizing the finalists in its annual industry awards.

The list of nominees is made up of RAMW members who met all of the category requirements. An anonymous group of volunteer judges, made up of food and dining journalists, educators, and food service industry professionals, assembled the list and will vote on the winners.

Members of the public will have the opportunity this summer to vote online to choose winners in the four following categories:

• Stomping Ground
• The Salt Line

Upscale Brunch of the Year

• Bindaas – Cleveland Park
• Estadio
• Seasons at the Four Seasons DC
• St. Anselm
• Trummer’s

Casual Brunch of the Year

• All-Purpose Shaw
• Casolare Ristorante + Bar
• Liberty Barbecue
• Pearl Dive Oyster Palace
• The Tavern at Ivy City Smokehouse

Favorite Fast Bites of the Year

• Call Your Mother Deli – Park View
• Kuya Ja’s Lechon Belly
• RASA
• Shouk
• Sloppy Mama’s BBQ

At the 2020 RAMMYS ceremony later this year, the RAMW Executive Committee will present the Joan Hisaoka Allied Member of the Year, which will be given to an Allied member who exhibits commitment and support for RAMW.

The RAMW Executive Committee has already announced winners of two special awards. The 2020 Duke Zeibert Capital Achievement Award will be presented to Randy Norton of Great American Restaurants, for his leadership in the region's restaurant industry.

The 2020 Honorary Milestone RAMMY Award, which honors dining staples celebrating a significant number of years of service, will be presented to Mrs. K’s Toll House (90 years), Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company (30 years), and Vace Italian Delicatessen (44 years).
