DC United to Start Building New Stadium in Days
Audi Field could be the new home of D.C. United as early as next year, and it will be able to fit 20,000 fans.

WASHINGTON, DC — Good news, D.C. United fans: the D.C. Zoning Commission has given the team final approval to start building a $300 million stadium, and officials will break ground on Feb. 27.
D.C. United has been playing at the Redskins' former home of RFK Stadium since 1996, but 21 years later, they're ready to get their own state-of-the-art digs around the corner from Nationals Park.
Audi will have the naming rights to the stadium, which will be able to fit 20,000 fans and will include 500,000 square feet of residential and retail space. The team could start playing at Audi Field as soon as next year.
