Fauci Backs Community Health Center Vaccination Idea
The renowned national health leader made his comments during a "Conversations on Health Care" interview about COVID-19

Dr. Anthony Fauci, in a “Conversations on Health Care” interview, enthusiastically agreed when co-host and Community Health Center (CHC) president and CEO Mark Masselli suggested that the U.S. needs an adult vaccination program to match the depth and quality of the one that exists right now for American children.
Fauci, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director and President Biden’s chief medical advisor, says, “You’ve just hit something that‘s very, very important. The infrastructure we have for childhood vaccines is infinitely better than any other [adult] infrastructure, so we have got to integrate the idea of adult vaccines right into the health care system. Many physicians are doing that right now, are making sure and encouraging their patients [to get vaccinated], but that’s their patients. You’ve got to have an infrastructure that goes beyond requiring a physician that they can call up.”
CHC has vaccinated one-sixth of Connecticut residents and the state has administered the second highest percentage of COVID-19 vaccines in the country.

Fauci’s interview occurs as the U.S. has just recorded 600,000 lives lost to the disease and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention calls the Delta variant of the novel coronavirus a “variant of concern.”
Fauci also expressed confidence that countries around the world receiving vaccine donations from the U.S. and others will be able to successfully administer them.
