Flash Flood Watch Issued For DC By National Weather Service

National Weather Service expects 2-4 inches of rain to fall on the District through Thursday morning.

WASHINGTON, DC — The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for the District Wednesday morning. The watch is in effect until 11 a.m, Thursday.

The D.C. area can expect several rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall, with a few possible thunderstorms, through Thursday morning, according to an NWS alert. The first round is expected to dissipate later Thursday afternoon, with a second round expected through the evening. This second round may bring more moderate to heavy rainfall.

NWS expects an estimated 2-4 inches of rainfall in the District through Thursday, which could lead to instances of localized flash flooding.
