Founder Of Major DC Developer JBG Dies At 90: Report
Donald A. Brown, the founder of D.C. real estate behemoth JBG, reportedly has died at the age of 90.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Donald A. Brown, founder of D.C. real estate giant JBG, has passed away at his Florida home, according to a report. He was 90.
The Washington Post reports that Brown died of cancer, and the date of his passing was March 6.
Brown formed a legal partnership in the 1950s that eventually turned into a real estate investment firm they called JBG Companies, with the "B" referring to Brown and the other letters referring to his two partners, Ben Jacobs and Joseph Gildenhorn, according to the report.

They started buying apartments in Prince George's County, Md., and then bought buildings in D.C. and Northern Virginia.
The company is responsible for famous area buildings such as the Wolf Trap music and arts center, the Four Seasons hotel in Georgetown, and Geico headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md.

Brown was born in D.C. Feb. 1, 1929. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and got a degree from George Washington University.
