Free Tickets Available For National Christmas Tree Ceremony

Here's how to enter the lottery for free tickets to the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 28 at the White House.

WASHINGTON, DC — The National Park Service is giving away free tickets to the 2018 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in an online lottery that begins on Thursday, according to a media report. The ceremony will be televised Nov. 28 on the grounds of the White House.

The lottery will open to entries at 10 a.m. Thursday on the National Park Service’s recreation website or by calling 877-444-6777. It will close at 10 a.m. next Monday, radio station WTOP reported. The winners will be notified on Oct. 29.

The National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place in front of the White House in the Ellipse at President’s Park. The event will feature live musical performances.

The Christmas tree is a Colorado blue spruce that lives in the park year-round, WTOP reports.
