'Light Up The Season' To Be Held At DC Hotel In December

WASHINGTON, DC — An annual holiday fundraising event benefiting Children's National Hospital will be held on Dec. 15 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Light Up the Season will take place from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, and it will highlight "highlights creative collaborations between Children’s National patients and notable area artists," according to a statement.

"Together, these patient-designer teams create custom holiday trees, mantelpieces, menorahs and dollhouses—all available for purchase—with proceeds directly supporting programs that improve the health and well-being of children across the Washington, D.C. region," the statement adds. "Activities for all ages include holiday arts and crafts, ornament making, musical performances, pop-up shops, photos with Santa, cookie making and visits from Dr. Bear."

The event will support the Children's Health Board, which provides grant funding for pediatric programs at Children's National.

"Light Up The Season is a family-friendly community fundraising event, featuring patient and designer-decorated holiday trees, menorahs and wreaths," the website states. "Every art piece includes the story of the unique collaboration between a Children’s National patient and a notable area designer and is available for purchase."
