Make Mother’s Day Brunch, Dinner Reservations Now In DC

More eateries in D.C. may be open for Mother's Day 2021, but it's a good idea to reserve a spot now. Others offer pickup deals.

WASHINGTON, DC — Everything Mom has done over the past year of the coronavirus pandemic should add up to an extra-special 2021 Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday, May 9. To start her the day off right, how about taking Mom to her favorite D.C. brunch spot?

Many restaurants and eateries are still limiting seating, so making a reservation early is especially important this year. And if you’re still undecided about going to a sit-down restaurant, curbside pickup or delivery is an option in many places.

Logan Tavern, for example, is offering 25 percent off to-go orders all day on Mother's Day. Orders for brunch and dinner can be made online. Logan Tavern customers should use code “LOGANMOMS” when ordering.

Many restaurants offer prix fixe menus, signature cocktails, decadent desserts and five-star service.

Here are a few more suggestions to get you started:

Ted's Bulletin, located at 1818 14th Street NW and 505 8th Street SE, is accepting reservations for Mother's Day. Discover Ted's Bulletin's creative and contemporary approach to classic American dishes.

Modena, located at 1100 New York Ave, NW, will be offering a selection of prix fixe menus available for in-house and carryout dining on Mother’s Day. Families who dine at the restaurant will have a four-course, prix fixe menu priced at $75 per person. Those who wish to dine at home will have a choice of a three-course, prix fixe menu priced at $55 per person or a four-course, prix fixe menu priced at $75 per person.

Ambar, located at 523 8th Street, SE, will offer its fixed price brunch of unlimited small plates and cocktails from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mother’s Day. Priced at $30 per person, excluding tax and gratuity, guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat selection of mezze, spreads, soups and salads, traditional dishes, flatbreads, sliders, egg dishes and sweets. Unlimited brunch must be ordered by the entire table.

Rasika West End, located at 1190 New Hampshire Avenue, NW, will offer a three-course, prix fixe menu priced at $55 per person this Mother’s Day. Guests will enjoy flavorful Indian dishes. Rasika West End’s Mother’s Day brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 9. The restaurants regular a la carte menu will be available for dinner service from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The Capital Grille, located at 601 Pennsylvania Ave NW, is offering to-go service that includes a three-course dinner featuring roasted beef tenderloin with a choice of butter poached North Atlantic lobster tails or scampi-style jumbo shrimp, served with green beans, mashed potatoes, a baked flourless chocolate espresso cake and lemon tea cookies.

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, located at 21st and, L St NW, offers a prix fixe family meal for four that includes its signature Surf & Turf (a 6-, 8- or 11-ounce filet paired with buttery cold water lobster tail); a Caesar or steak house salad; and a choice of two from a list of sides that includes garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, steamed broccoli or sweet potato casserole; and a mini cheesecake.
