The Marine Corps Marathon is currently scheduled as a virtual race, but it could change to an in-person race if COVID-19 conditions improve.
WASHINGTON, DC — Registration for the 46th Marine Corps Marathon opens to the public on Wednesday at noon. The race is currently scheduled as a virtual event, but it could change to an in-person race if COVID-19 conditions improve.
Virtual entries for the Marine Corps Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon 50K are $55 plus a processing fee and are available to runners ages 14-and-older at www.marinemarathon.com. Registration for the virtual Marine Corps Marathon 10K will open in April.
Runners registered for the virtual Marine Corps Marathon events will have the first option to participate in any event that is ultimately allowed to host a live, in-person version in October in accordance with local guidelines.

All MCM and MCM50K virtual participants will receive a class mock neck event shirt, a finisher medal, patch, socks, digital bib and collectible bib shipped in a branded Mission Accomplished finisher box.
Last summer, Marine Corps Marathon officials announced the race, traditionally run on the last Sunday in October, was canceled for the first time in its 45-year history due to the pandemic. The in-person version of the race begins in Arlington and crosses Key Bridge into D.C. before returning to Arlington on the 14th Street Bridge and finishing at the Iwo Jima Memorial.
