Mellow Mushroom Adds New Pizzas, Cuban-Inspired Hoagie To DC Menu

WASHINGTON, DC — Mellow Mushroom, the pizza restaurant chain with one location in Adams Morgan, added a slew of items to its menu Thursday, including new pizzas, munchies, greens, and a Cuban-inspired Havana Hoagie, according to a company release.

“The Mellow culinary team really hit it out of the park with these new menu items, offering a variety of flavors and choices for our guests,” said Anne Mejia, Mellow Mushroom vice president of brand development, in the release. “Between these new menu items and the Liquid Karma Cocktails we recently added, Mellow Mushroom guests have so many new options to build their perfect meal from start to finish.”

According to the release, here are the new menu items available starting Thursday:

• Avocado Smash– Made fresh to order, a blend of avocados, salt, garlic and lime served with fresh bruschetta made from diced Roma tomatoes, feta cheese and fresh basil and served with toast points.
• Teriyaki Wings–Sweet and slightly salty, the Teriyaki Sauce wings are double-baked and available as 5, 10, or 20-piece orders alongside guest favorite flavors like jerk, BBQ, and sweet Thai chili.
• Elevated Cobb Salad– Antibiotic free Spring Mountain Farms chicken, Applewood smoked bacon, fresh avocados, crumbled blue cheese and sliced Roma tomatoes sits atop a bed of chopped romaine lettuce.
• Mellow Chick Salad– Homemade chicken salad made with dried cherries, sweet onions, chopped pecans and freshly made curried mayo, served with slices of cucumber, carrots, celery and Roma tomatoes on a bed of spring mix and drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette.
• Backyard BBQ Pie– Roasted pork tossed in house-made BBQ sauce with mozzarella cheese and roasted mild poblano peppers, topped with sweet Peppadew peppers and chives, and then finished with Mellow’s signature garlic butter and parmesan cheese.
• Wild in Havana Pie– Jerk marinated pork, ham, salami, Swiss and mozzarella cheeses, diced pickles, and a mayo-mustard drizzle, this specialty pie was inspired by Mellow Mushroom’s Home Grown Challenge, where team members across the country submitted their recipes.
• Havana Hoagie– An inspired version of a pressed theCuban sandwich, the hoagie is topped with grilled pork, ham, and pickle slices, topped with melted Swiss cheese and a good amount of mustard.

Mellow Mushroom has three locations in the metro Washington, D.C. area — Adams Morgan (2436 18th St., N.W., Washington, DC 20009), Chantilly, and in Herndon.
