Metro Reports Only 2 Station Closures Week of May 17

Metro trains will be serving all but two stations across its system the week of May 17, with trains running from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metro trains will be serving 89 of 91 stations across the transit system the week of May 17, with trains running from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m, the transit system said Monday.

Trains will operate normal weekday service the week of May 17 on the Red, Yellow, Green and Silver lines, with service adjustments during the daytime on the Orange Line and on the Red and Green lines after 10 p.m.

Due to Metro's Platform Improvement Project, the Arlington Cemetery and Addison Road stations will be closed with no Blue Line service through May 23.

Additional Yellow Line service will operate between Franconia-Springfield and Mt. Vernon Sq. stations. Free shuttle buses will be provided to and from the closed stations.

From 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. single tracking will occur on the Orange Line between Cheverly and New Carrollton May 17-19. Trains will run every 16 minutes. All inbound and outbound trains at Cheverly will board from one side of the platform.
