Movie Filming To Shut Down Several DC Roads, Police Say

WASHINGTON, DC - A new movie being filmed in the nation's capital could cause some traffic delays, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. "Without Remorse," which is based on the Tom Clancy novel and stars Michael B. Jordan, will begin filming Thursday, Dec. 19 near Dupont Circle.
Jordan will play a Navy SEAL who goes on a path to avenge his wife's murder only to find himself inside of a larger conspiracy, according to IMDB. The movie is scheduled to be released on Sept.18, 2020.
Due to filming, there will be several street closures that drivers should take into consideration, police warn. The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from around 6:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.:

- Corcoran Street, NW between 17th Street, NW & 19th Street, NW
- R Street, NW between 17th Street, NW & 19th Street, NW
- New Hampshire Avenue, NW between Riggs Place, NW & Q Street, NW
- 18th Street, NW between Riggs Place, NW and Q Street, NW
All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions, police say.
"The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage," the department said in a news release. "All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed."
Police warn that drivers may encounter possible delays if driving in the area of filming. As a result, they say drivers may want to consider alternative routes.
The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also reminds drivers in the area to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
