National Police Week 2016: Full Schedule of Events

Candlelight vigils, survivor conferences and baseball games are all part of the 2016 activity lineup to honor fallen police officers.

National Police Week 2016 runs from May 15-21. Events begin on May 12.

May 15 was declared National Peace Officers Memorial Day in 1962, and every year since then, law enforcement officers and their families have gathered in Washington, D.C. to honor those who have been killed in the line of duty.

This year, the names of 252 fallen officers will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, including 123 who died in 2015. Events center around the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, on the 400 block of E Street, NW.
