Mohammad Anwar died while he was carjacked on an Uber Eats delivery near Nationals Park.
WASHINGTON — An outpouring of support has come in for the family of Mohammad Anwar, the Uber Eats driver who was killed during a carjacking at the Navy Yard near Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. last week.
A GoFundMe for his Anwar's family had brought in nearly $500,000 as of Sunday afternoon, almost five times the amount it set to raise.
Lehra Bogino, Anwar's niece and creator of the fundraiser, called her uncle a "beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who always provided a smile when you needed one."

Anwar, of Springfield, Virginia, was a Pakistani immigrant, Bogino said. He came to the United States "to create a better life for him and his family," she added.
"He leaves behind a family, near and far, who cherish, love, and miss him dearly.Words can not describe how our family is feeling currently," Bogino wrote. "Devastation, confusion, shock, anger, heartache, and anguish are just a few that come to mind. We will carry him with us always, but it doesn’t take the pain away of losing him so tragically and so unexpectedly soon."
