New Year's Eve Events Around DC, NoVA: 2019 Guide

WASHINGTON, DC — As the holiday season enters the home stretch, it's time to make plans for how you want to celebrate New Year's Eve. Will it be a formal gala, an oldies party, or something family friendly? There are plenty of options to choose from in and around the Washington, D.C. metro region on how you can ring in 2020.

Here's a list of some of ways you can celebrate the arrival of 2020:

Clarendon Ballroom New Years Eve Gala: Dec. 31, 8 p.m., at Clarendon Ballroom, 3185 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. Whether it's been a good year or a not so good year, it's time to say goodby to 2019 and hello to 2020. The Clarendon Ballroom's New Year's Eve Gala is the place to be on New Year's Eve. Glow All Out NYE 2020: 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. on Jan. 1. Swing in the new year at Topgolf, which is celebrating the arrival of 2020 by throwing one of its biggest parties of the year. Enjoy live entertainment, a chef-inspired menu and a midnight celebration. New Year's Eve Family Celebration: Dec. 31, 5 p.m., at Mola, 3155 Mount Pleasant St., N.W. Washington, D.C. First Night Alexandria: 6 p.m.-1 a.m. on Dec. 31 to Jan. 1. Alexandria's New Year's Eve celebration celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., check out live music at 25 indoor venues lining King Street from the Metro station to the waterfront. Younger residents can find entertainment at four Kids Karnivals from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with their own creative countdown. The Auld Shebeen's New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball: 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 2 a.m. on Jan. 1. This year's ball will feature a photo booth and props so you can take home your memories of the night, as well as share them with your friends on social media. Tickets will be $25 and can be purchased in house or via Eventbrite. Tickets include entry, one drink ticket, a champagne toast, party favors, and masks (in case you forget yours at home), and photo booth photos. The Legwarmers New Year's Eve at State Theatre: Doors at 7 p.m. and show at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 31. Ring in the new year with a nostalgic dance party celebrating the 80s.
