NFL Rookie Jaylen Twyman Shot While Visiting Aunt In DC
Former H.D. Woodson standout Jaylen Twyman was shot Monday evening while he was sitting in a car in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — Jaylen Twyman, a Minnesota Vikings draft pick and D.C. native, was one of several people shot Monday evening in Northeast D.C., according to news reports.
Metropolitan Police Department officers responded around 5:09 p.m., to the 300 block of 50th Street, N.E., for the report of the sound of gunshots, according to a police release. The officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the two men to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Two other male victims sought treatment for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds at are hospitals.
Drew Rosenhaus, Twyman's agent, told ESPN that his client received four gunshot wounds while he was sitting in a vehicle.

Twyman was in D.C. to visit his aunt when the was shot and and he had only received superficial exit wounds, according to Rosenhaus. Twyman is expected to recover.
The Vikings drafted 21-year-old Twyman, who played football for H.D. Woodson in D.C. and the University of Pittsburgh, in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL draft. He signed his contract with Minnesota on May 13 to play defensive tackle.

MPD released surveillance photos of a car wanted in connection with Monday's shootings. Police ask anyone with information about the car or the shootings to call 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411.
D.C. police are currently offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to a arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for a violent crime in the District.
