Pentagon Conducting 'Mass Casualty' Exercise Thursday
People may notice a significant increase in police presence in the area on Thursday, particularly along certain freeway routes.
Authorities will be conducting a "mass casualty" response exercise Thursday morning near the Pentagon, and are warning locals that they may see an increased police presence in the area that day, and that commutes may be affected.
The Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) and the 12th Aviation Batallion posted to social media this week to warn citizens of the exercise, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Authorities warn that the areas of Routes 27 and 110 may be especially impacted, and commuters in the area should take note.
