The six-block "spine" will begin at a new plaza at the intersection of New Jersey Avenue and M Street SE, and extend all the way to the Anacostia River at Diamond Teague Park.
Developers said the second phase will be organized around a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly street. Residents can expect ground level retail and dining, extended green spaces and a variety of public gathering areas.

"With its initial wave of development, featuring Yards Park and a range of residential, dining and retail options, The Yards established itself as DC's first revitalized waterfront neighborhood," Deborhah Ratner Salzberg, Forest City Washington's President, said in a statement. "Now with phase two - which when complete will nearly triple what has already been delivered - The Yards will offer even more incredible office, dining and residential properties in the region, located just steps away from Nationals Park."
