'Spa-Like' Dental Studios Coming To DC Area In August
Tend, a New York-based company that started in 2019, plans to open six new dentistry studios in the D.C. area starting in August.

WASHINGTON, DC — Tend, a New York-based company, plans to open six new dentistry studios in the D.C. area starting in August. The locations will offer a "spa-like" experience that will make people less hesitant to visit the dentist, the company said.
The expansion into D.C., Tend's first market outside of New York City, was made possible by $125 million in funding from investors in a recent round of fundraising. The company is eyeing eventually opening a total of 15 locations in the D.C. metropolitan area.
Tend started in October 2019 in New York City with the goal of providing an innovative approach to oral healthcare that combines hospitality with patient experience. Tend has already opened six locations in New York.

“Tend was created to set a new standard for oral health by providing dentistry the way it should be — hassle-free, personalized, and straightforward, with a focus on patient happiness — all in a calm, inviting, and thoughtfully-designed space,” the company said.
The company currently has more than 250 employees, with plans to recruit new dentists and staff members.
