UPDATE (March 11, 11:30 a.m.): In response to concerns about the new coronavirus and to ensure the safety of everyone who planned to attend the March 15 St. Patrick's Parade in Washington, D.C., the organizers announced Wednesday that the event will be postponed to a future date.

"Rather than canceling, we are postponing our annual celebration for an event and date still to be determined," Bob Monagan, parade chairman, said in an email. "In the meantime, we strongly encourage everyone to support the parade's sponsors and fundraiser hosts. Details for future 2020 events celebrating the mission of the St. Patrick's Parade Committee will be announced once they have been finalized."
