Top 7 Most Outrageous Inauguration AirBnB Listings in DC

Donald Trump's Jan. 20 inauguration is fast approaching, and some locals are looking to rent out their places for some insane rates.

WASHINGTON, DC — Inauguration Day is going to bring scores of outsiders desperate for a place to stay, and locals in the District are certainly going to take advantage of that. While most of the properties posted on AirBnB are reasonable, there are some truly outrageous listings that must be seen to be believed.

We can't fault these people for trying to get the most out of their abode. But based on both price tag and what they offer, the following listings in the area may be a bit overboard.

All of the following listings cover a three-night period from Jan. 19-22.

It's not the most expensive listing — yes, seriously, and it's not even close — but it may be the most optimistic. This "private room" is situated far from downtown in Southeast, and at $2,800 a night, it's going for a lot more than the already-expensive other listings in the area. But hey, it's got free parking.

3-bedroom, 3-bathroom duplex (Mount Vernon Square)

Price for three nights: $20,026

You'll pay $990 just for the service fee at this insanely priced property in a decent, but not quite ideal, location that barely can be considered walking distance to the National Mall.

2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom condo (Judiciary Square)

Price for three nights: $18,812

It's in a heck of a location just steps from the National Mall where all the action will take place, but nearly 20 grand is a lot to pay for just two bedrooms for three nights.

5-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom house (Capitol Hill)

Price for three nights: $18,479

For the price of that condo above, might as well just save a few hundred bucks and spring for this large Capitol Hill house that is 100 yards from the U.S. Capitol, where Donald Trump's inauguration will take place.

3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house (Capitol Hill)

Price for three nights: $17,259

You could also stay in a "former corner grocery store" on Capitol Hill for about the same price, and a lot less space.

2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment (Penn Quarter)

Price for three nights: $16,103

If you'd rather stay near the White House, this two-bedroom apartment is perfect for you, costing just $4,389 per night. You'll also pay more than two grand just for the occupancy taxes.

6-bedroom, 7-bathroom house (Woodley Park)

Price for three nights: $18,775

A charitable way to put this listing is that it's a big house away from the hustle and bustle of the National Mall up in Northwest. A less charitable way to put is that you'd be shelling out close to 20 grand for three nights in a house that is nowhere near the National Mall.
