Weekend Road Closures In DC Due To Annual Governors Meeting

D.C. Police have issued a traffic advisory for road closures and limited parking this weekend due to an event downtown.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Several streets in D.C. will be closed and parking will be limited in the same area this weekend due to the National Governors Association Winter Meetings, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.

Beginning on Friday, Feb. 7, at 6 a.m., until Monday, Feb. 10, at 4 a.m., Emergency No Parking signs will be posted on the following streets:

  • L Street between 9th Street and 10th Street, NW
  • 10th Street between Massachusetts Avenue and L Street, NW

During the same time period, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:

  • Traffic will be unable to travel east on L Street between 9thStreet and 10th Street, NW
  • 10th Street between Massachusetts Avenue and L Street, NW

Depending on prevailing or unexpected conditions, all listed times and street closures are subject to change.

When looking for a place to park, drivers should follow the instructions on all posted emergency no parking signage. Vehicles parked in violation of such signage will be ticketed or towed.
