A new survey finds that rents are rising in D.C. compared to last year.

Bad news for D.C. residents with leases up soon, or anyone planning on living here: rents are going up. And for one neighborhood in particular, they're way up.
ApartmentList.com has released its April Washington DC Rent Report, and it shows that rents have increased slightly over the past month, and are 1.6 percent higher than they were at this time last year.
The good news is it's not rising as high as the rest of the nation -- it's 1.1 percent behind average rent growth nationwide.

The hottest neighborhood to live in based on rising rents is the Logan Circle-Shaw neighborhood in Northwest, which is a whopping 7.1 percent higher than last year.
But it's not the most expensive in the city -- that honor goes to Foggy Bottom-GWU-West End in downtown, where a one-bedroom apartment will set you back $2,610 per month.
