Woman Dies In DC Blaze: Authorities
A woman has died after a fire broke out in Southeast D.C.
WASHINGTON, DC — A woman has been pronounced dead at the hospital after a fire broke out in her apartment Monday morning, authorities say.
D.C. Fire and EMS responded to a fire in a second-floor apartment located at 3117 Buena Vista Terrace SE, the department tweeted shortly after 8 a.m.
They transported one patient in critical condition and were able to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported.

The department tweeted at 9:41 a.m. that the patient who was pulled from the apartment has died at the hospital. They are withholding her name until her next of kin are notified.
Investigators are at the scene to determine the cause.

D.C. Fire and EMS did not specify any details about the victim, but multiple outlets reported that the victim was a woman.
