COLLIER COUNTY, FL -- A 49-year-old Hillsborough County man is behind bars as a result of a Florida Highway Patrol K9's keen sense of smell.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers made a massive marijuana bust on Alligator Alley Wednesday at 2:15 pm. after pulling over a 2012 Toyota Camry for having illegal window tints.
However, it wasn't tinted windows that led to the arrest of Owen Onfroy. While the Toyota was pulled over, K9 Baca's nose led him to the car's trunk where he barked an alert to his handler. When troopers opened the trunk, they found 115 pounds of marijuana inside, worth an estimated $1 million, according to FHP public information officer Greg Bueno.
