Applebee's Data Breach Affected 4 Florida Restaurants

More than 100 Applebee's locations in 14 states were affected by the data breach; 4 restaurants in the Florida Panhandle

Customer data at more than 100 Applebee's locations in the U.S. may have been compromised. RMH Franchise Holdings, which operates several Applebee's restaurants, announced news of the breach earlier this month.

The data breach includes four Applebee's in the Florida Panhandle:

  • Crestview, 215 Rasberry Road, between Dec. 6, 2017 - Jan. 2
  • Miramar Beach, 8670 Highway 98 West, between Dec. 6, 2017 - Jan. 2
  • Pensacola, 165 East Nine Mile Road, between Dec. 6, 2017 - Jan. 2
  • Pensacola, 5091 Bayou Blvd., between Dec. 6, 2017 - Jan. 2


According to RMH, the breach was designed to capture payment card information and may have affected a limited number of purchases made at the affected locations. Applebee's locations in other states affected: Alabama, Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wyoming.

RMH said it learned of the breach on Feb. 13 and took appropriate steps to ensure the breach was contained and launched an investigation. The company said it also notified law enforcement of the breach.

Guests' names, credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates and card verification codes could have been affected. RMH says the specific dates the breach took place vary by location.
