Community Raises $6,000 For Beloved 'Taco Bell Joe'
A longtime employee of a Taco Bell in South Daytona was moved to tears by the gesture.
SOUTH DAYTONA, FL — A beloved fast food employee was speechless when presented with a giant check for more than $6,000. Joe DeCicco, known in the South Daytona-area as "Taco Bell Joe," won a contest to find people's favorite service worker, according to a FOX 35 Orlando report.
While the idea was to get the contest winner, which FOX reported was DeCicco overwhelmingly, an extra $50 as a holiday bonus, the community raised more than 100 times that amount.
"Taco Bell Joe" has been at the Taco Bell on Ridgewood Avenue for about 20 years, according to the report. His popularity goes beyond those who have interacted with him, with Facebook and Twitter pages dedicated to him.
