President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden planned a full day in South Florida on Thursday, where they will meet with family member of people killed or missing in the Surfside condominium collapse and the teams searching the rubble for survivors and remains.

The president’s party is due to land in Miami at 9:30 a.m. for a meeting with Gov. Ron DeSantis, Miami Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, and other local leader, according to a schedule released by the White House.

At 11 a.m., the Bidens will “thank the heroic first responders, search and rescue teams, and others who have been working tirelessly around the clock for their continued efforts and support,” at the Champlain Towers South ruins, according to the schedule.

At 12:30, the couple is due at the at the St. Regis Hotel in Miami to “meet with the families who have been forced to endure this terrible tragedy, to offer them comfort as search and rescue efforts continue.” This event is closed to the press.

Finally, at 3:50 p.m., the president will deliver a speech at the hotel before leaving Miami at 5:20 p.m.
