Salt Life Co-Founder Faces Manslaughter Charge In Teen's Death

Michael Troy Hutto of Jacksonville was arrested after the 18-year-old woman was found dead in a Riviera City hotel.

JACKSONVILLE, FL — One of the co-founders of the Salt Life clothing company has been charged in the death of an 18-year-old woman. Michael Troy Hutto, 54, of Jacksonville faces a manslaughter charge in the death of Lora Grace Duncan, who was found dead in a Riviera Beach hotel last week, according to News4Jax and other media outlets.

Duncan, of Lake City, was found shot to death on Oct. 29 at the Hotel Hilton Singer Island Oceanfront Palm Beaches Resort. She was found after her parents called the Columbia County Sheriff's Office to request a well-being check, News4Jax reported.

Hutto came up with the Salt Life name while creating the company in 2003, according to the News-Times. He has not been involved with the company since he and his partners sold it in 2013.

Florida Highway Patrol officers helped Riviera Beach police make the arrest, which officials said occurred at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville.
