Shortly after the shooting, MDPD officers spotted the Nissan matching the description of a suspicious vehicle identified as being the area of the drive-by shooting.

"Officers attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle refused to stop," according to Cowart. "While in the area of 71st Street and 14th Avenue, three males fled from the vehicle, one of which was taken into custody."

He said that that driver of the Nissan was subsequently involved in a crash with another vehicle around 67th Street and 10th Avenue, which is where he was taken into custody.

"The driver of the civilian vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated and released on the scene," Cowart explained. "Investigators are actively working the case and the involvement of the individuals in police custody remains under investigation."

Cowart said Randle was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. "The second adult male succumbed to his injuries at Ryder Trauma," Cowart explained of Randle.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m.

"Upon the officer's arrival, they discovered two victims lying in the front yard suffering from apparent gunshot wounds," Cowart explained. "Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and determined that Mr. Fisher was deceased."
