Chesterbrook Academy Preschoolers in Cooper City Spread Kindness
From November through January, each classroom at Chesterbrook Academy completed a different act of kindness
To help spread kindness during the holiday season and the start of the new year, students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Cooper City participated in a series of initiatives through their Kindness Elves project. Inspired by the Kindness Elves™, which were created by a mother and former teacher to provide children with positive, character-building activities that emphasize being nice to others, sharing and gratitude, Chesterbrook Academy students completed different acts of kindness as the Kindness Elves traveled from classroom to classroom.
The first class practiced the self-care routine of brushing their teeth and spreading smiles throughout the school. Students in the second class each brought a book to school to share with others and learn the importance of reading at home as well. In the third classroom, students held a toy drive to donate gifts to local children through Toys for Tots. Students in the fourth classroom involved the entire school by coordinating a shoe drive in support of Soles4Souls, collecting more than 50 pairs of shoes for people in need. In the final classroom, students collected new and gently used Halloween costumes to donate to the Haiti Children’s Festival. Through these initiatives, students learned the importance of spreading kindness and helping others.
