The 2021 Go Green awards recognize the achievements of participating residential and commercial property owners in Aventura who have practiced environmental sustainability in their facilities.

Go Green is the City’s initiative encouraging its community to make responsible decisions that reduce negative impacts on the environment, save energy, and lower operational costs. The Aventura Community Services Advisory Board presents the prestigious award to those property owners whose efforts have and continue to keep Aventura green.

Congratulations to all!
2800 Island Blvd
- Installed charging stations for electrical vehicles
- Installed energy efficient lighting
7000 Island Blvd
- Installed motion sensor sink faucets
- Converted to paperless documents
- Replaced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units for energy efficiency
- Installed light-emitting diode (LED) lights on pool deck
- Added four additional outlets for electric vehicle charging
Atlantic II at the Point
- Added light-emitting diode (LED) lighting throughout the building in all common areas & hallways,
- Installed energy efficient appliances and fixtures
- Installed four, new, highly efficient, air conditioner (A/C) units
Aventura Lakes Homeowners’ Association
- Replaced pool heat pumps with energy efficient replacement
- Retrofitted 153 streetlamps with new light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs
- Replaced air conditioner (A/C) units with higher-rated, seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) units
- Upgraded seven lake fountains to use less electricity
- Installed rain sensors in the irrigation system to conserve water when it rains
- Promoted recycling program for residents
- Converted to paperless/digital documents
One Island Place
- Promoted recycling program and initiatives for residents
- Installed impact windows to use less electricity
- Partnered with Waste Management to promote environmental awareness
- Installed motion sensor lighting
- Installed electric vehicle charging stations
- Upgraded water irrigation
- Installed light-emitting diode (LED) lighting
- Installed sustainable sprinklers
- Converted to paperless/digital documents
- Replaced water refreshments to bottle-less water dispensers
Point East Corporation Four Inc.
- Installed energy efficient sinks in the laundry rooms
- Maintained recyclables and waste collection separate
- Added additional plants throughout the building
Point East Council Inc.
- Installed coated roofs at the club house, office, and rose room
- Installed new plants in the council areas
Porto Vita Property Owner's Association
- Minimized plastic consumption with hot and cold water stations
- Upgraded golf carts with higher yielding electric carts
- Installed low watt light-emitting diode (LED) lighting
- Upgraded heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system to use variable frequency drive (VFD) to cool the club with much less energy
- Replaced cleaning supplies with bio-degradable products
- Switched from plastic stirrers to bamboo stirrers
- Participated in cardboard recycling program to redirect recyclable materials from the landfill
Privé at Island Estates
- Collected and sorted recycling items in their assigned bins
- Upgraded landscaping irrigation
- Replaced majority of cleaning products with sustainable products
- Replaced all non-efficient lighting and with light-emitting diode (LED) lighting
- Installed electric vehicle charging stations
The Venture at Aventura East
- Installed a new temperature sensor
- Installed new air handler in existing location in new auxiliary drain
- Activated preventative maintenance on all air conditioner (A/C) units
Turnberry on the Green Condo Association
- Removed paper towel dispensers and installed hand dryers
- Collected and sorted recycling items
- Used ultra violet (UV) lamps as an alternative to disinfect water
Williams Island POA
- Participated in Pelican Harbor Seabird Station's Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release program. A bird watch rescue committee comprised of staff and residents at Williams Island help injured birds by taking them for treatment and care at Pelican Harbor. Once the birds are healthy, the committee releases them back into the Island.
