First responders used the Jaws of Life to free a person who was trapped in their car Thursday night following a crash on Interstate 95.

MIAMI, FL — First responders used the Jaws of Life to free a person who was trapped in their car Thurday night following a crash on Interstate 95.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. at Miami Gardens Drive, according to a spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

"One patient was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated using the jaws of life," the spokesperson explained. "After the firefighters removed the patient, they were transported to the north trauma center."
