Jimmy Kimmel Grills Florida Family On Sausage Surprise

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL — Late-night funnyman Jimmy Kimmel took on a meaty subject during Wednesday's show based on a frozen sausage mystery ripped straight out of the South Florida headlines. Travis, Jenny and Austin Adair were sound asleep in their Deerfield Beach home early Saturday morning when they were awakened by a loud thud. The next morning they found two packages of frozen Italian sausage in their side yard and decided to investigate further.
The family then found a total of 15 pounds of the spicy Italian favorite that had mysteriously landed on their property overnight. (Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Aventura Patch.)
"Is it possible that the dogs made a wish and it came true," asked the popular host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" as he interviewed the three family members remotely from their home near Fort Lauderdale.

"I wanted to eat it, but considering the delivery method, I was a little skeptical about that," Travis Adair conceded, adding that his family talked him out of it.

Kimmel confessed that he would have looked upon the sausage rain as a "gift from God" and chanced a taste. "It would be rude to reject it," he insisted.
The comedian said that his staff followed the mystery meat back to Fussell Meats of Arcadia, Florida which is about 140 miles away from Deerfield. It was packaged for a local businessman — Jimbo Williams of Williams Land Service, who is about 20 miles away from Arcadia.
But that was six months ago. No one had any idea how the sausage got all the way to the Adair home.
"He did say that he would drive over there with more meat if you wanted to have a cookout or something" Kimmel said of the businessman who purchased the sausage.
"We're in," Travis Adair accepted.
One theory offered by Kimmel was that the late-night sausage incident was some sort of "strange mafia threat."
Or perhaps, "you know that saying 'when pigs fly,' maybe that finally happened." Kimmel posited.
